There simply aren't enough differences to separate these gens from each other in any meaningful way.
Both are linear
Both are piss easy
Both brought massive casualisation that retard-proofed the series
Both have diverse brown casts
Both have pokemon designs raped by James Turner
Both have awful stories
Both have too many forced tutorials and cutscenes
Both cut removed stuff that was in every previous game
Both are very hideous one is the ugliest 2d game, and the other is the ugliest 3d game

The only real difference is they swapped out the retarded railroaded foreign western region gimmick for Britain instead of america.

We're not getting Unova remakes or BW3. Galar is the spiritual successor to Gen V in every way.
