Honesty I always read it as Tinkaton using scraps from knocking Corviknight’s parts loose rather than actively hunting it. The obviously metallic parts on it are bits that can easily be shed without killing it/capable of growing back, and Corviknight’s Dex entry mentions predators rather than a singular predator species.

Its not a rivalry its a predator/prey relationship with Corviknight being the prey. Also the pokedex says Tinkaton uses rocks to knock corviknight out the sky not hit it with its hammer like its trying to do in that video.

I think data leaks showed Tinkaton initially had 85 base atk, but apparently it was the pokemon that truly needed a nerf, not any of the treasures or flutter mane.

The only way a Tinkaton is beating a Corviknight is if it has a 20+ level advantage. It's likely that the only Corviknights a Tinkaton is able to scavenge for scrap metal are the dead ones. Either ones killed by another wild Pokemon or ones that died of natural causes.

I'll also say it was a measure of not wanting to animate a cotrviknight getting split open with a hammer blow. This isn't "Wild On One with Sir David Attenborough" after all, so showing a Tink hunt after one was more than enough to adhere to series canon.
And as I said last that, the fact they seemingly made evey Tink a deranged birb-part obsessed shortstack tickles me greatly.
