I love how 90% of this stuff is just a "problem" in competitive and not something any player playing Gen I would actually have a problem with. Not to mention stuff like Hyper Beam dropping the recharge if it KO's actually being fun mechanics.

yes and it's all about glitches in pokemon R/B
none of the cool or beneficial ones like being able to catch safari zone pokes on cinnabar island, generate an encounter with mew, get a level 100 nidoking before brock, or get a free shiny ditto, they skipped all of that to focus on game breaking desolation glitches like well known PU shitmon hitmonlee taking 1 hp of recoil from missing high jump kick. this glitch effectively turned hitmonlee from a shitmon into a shitmon.
will the greatest selling pokemon game that started pokemania from nothing and is still pandered to in every sequel recover from this tragic reveal? only time will tell...

The legendary bugginess of these games is a meme. People simply hear it and repeat it but it doesn't stand up to the slightest scrutiny. If you play the game normally you will very rarely notice any bugs, and even when you do they're usually minor. If you play a variety of games you've probably seen many that are far buggier in far more obtrusive ways.

Literally the only thing on that list that's a genuine issue is Pokemon that gain more than one level at a time not learning the moves they'd have learned on the levels they skipped, which most people should remember pissing them off when they were grinding low level Pokemon against late game trainers.

Almost everything else is just "if you do this thing you'd never do, the game would glicth slightly and do something unintended".

While I'm glad all of these issues have been fixed, I still wonder how stupid ideas like ghost type being a physical type for 3 generations in a row happened. Ghost pokemon like Gengar and Shuppet could not make use of both STAB and their high special attack stat because of it, Shadow Ball worked better in Pokemon like Nidoking than in Gengar, which was absolutely retarded. I'm glad gen 4 fixed it, but 3 fucking gens in a row of this dumb shit, Jesus Christ.

I remember for a while it was thought that the Blind status in the original NES Final Fantasy was bugged and didn't actually do anything because the game is kinda buggy in general and lots of other stuff doesn't work, but when people did a deep dive into the code it turned out that it just didn't negatively affect your hit success rate enough for you to do noticeably less damage on average. So people just thought it might not do anything because they didn't THINK they were missing more than usual the few times they were blinded.

Read my post again. This spread through 3 gens. Gen 2 introduced Shadow Ball, and ghost Pokemon still had to get Psychic type moves to be useful.
