OP is being misleading. Blastoise and Feraligatr have the same base stat totals, and while the distributions are divided the same, they are shuffled around so only Def. and Speed are the same. Only Charizard and Typhlosion have the exact same stats

Honestly I don’t really understand what his intent is since he is nerfing pokemon that need buffs, makes changes that dont make sense thematically and buffs pokemon that are already meta

I like Feraligatr's design and Sheer Force is fun but I do not care about the other two.

Monotype was the entire point and their stats are not exactly copy pasted (only Typhlosion is while the other two are rearranged from their Kanto counterparts).
Plus they have different movesets.
Pokémon wasn’t designed around competitive back then so the first partner Pokémon were meant to replace the originals for these games.
