Ranger 3 is a lot like the main series in that there are a lot of really cool set pieces and gameplay elements, but the non-existent difficulty just means they're a complete waste. The temple missions do remedy this a lot, but after a certain point it becomes impossible to progress purely singleplayer which is just frustrating and unpleasant. Still a solid game overall
Ranger 2 is probably the best of them, it's got a surprisingly decent story and characters (by Pokemon standards), a charming world, and similar combat to 3. Unfortunately it has a similar issue to 3 where using your Pokemon in battle at all turns the game into a joke, but there actually is a fully completable postgame challenge area that remedies this. Doesn't have as many cool gimmicks and set pieces as 3 but still better overall imo
