2. Have Pokemon on your Gen 8/9 boxes
3. Transfer them to your HOME boxes using HOME for Switch
4. Open up the Pokedex in HOME for Switch to see all the regions's listing, you should get a small notification showing which species got registered (the same species you put from your game's boxes to HOME boxes)
Same process works migrating from Bank to HOME but you need to have a paid HOME sub, which I'll assume you have because you want a living dex.
Last FYI, if your autism demands to have any specific sorting regarding your living dex you will have to manually sort your boxes because filters probably won't auto-organize them in a way you may like
