Do any of you actually know somone who started playing and liking Pokémon in adulthood?

I feel like the only reason anyone likes these games is because of nostalgia. Simply put, they're only able to play through them because they're used to it. Adults who don't play a lot of games usually have no problem picking up and enjoying stuff like Mario or Zelda, but Pokémon is different somehow. I just don't think a developed brain is able to enjoy Pokémon in the same way children do.
