Since is basically confirmed Gen 5 is getting remakes at this point, that leads to the question of Gen 6 remakes. Do we really need them?

Unova and Kalos remakes should be sequels. Pokémon BW3 and Pokémon Z. Both stories are left off on acliff hanger and could benefit from being explored further.

Why not? Regardless of your feelings about them, XY and SM were a lot of people's first Pokémon games and carry a lot of nostalgia that can be marketed towards. Especially for Kalos, people have been hoping for a return to the region in every generation after. Why would they ever waste that opportunity?

Kalos is still the prettiest region.
Hopefully they won't remake it until Gamefreak finally learns how to develop games in HD, because it really needs to have good graphics.

Blueberry Academy is in Unova and Discucks are having a meltdown as a result.
Personally, I hope we just get a Legends Unova game, because Game Freak will sabotage the Unova "remakes" the same way they did with the Sinnoh "remakes".

Game Freak had nothing to do with BDSP. They were too busy making the actual Sinnoh return game.
If GF makes the next Unova game, it'll be fine.

GF didn't make the Sinnoh remakes, but yeah, it was shit nonetheless.

Even before Unova comes into the picture, though, i'm worried about Johto getting re-remakes that are as underwhelming and low-effort as the Sinnoh remakes.

Kalos was probably the most forgettable region for me. Considering there's also a bunch of cut-content and a bunch of gen 1 pandering made it worse. They could have refined it in a third version or sequels, but they decided to jump ship and just release ORAS and call it. It had a lot of potential and some features were nice, but as a region and the dex it was just so forgettable to me.

Kalos easily felt the least complete of any pre-DLC era Pokemon game... But Gamefreak doesn't have a shred of incompetency these days, and the eventual remakes will be worse than the originals.
