It flopped since it was released well after the gbc was dead. I remember the best they could do was package it with the game boy advance to try an at least make up some sales.
I(schizo) also like to believe Nintendo has a vendetta specifically against crystal for whatever reason to try and memory hole how many features they took out that wasn't present in rs(e) and memory holed again by being the last game released for the e shop. Didn't help with zero promotion and no way to distribute celebi/ use the cell phone gimmicks. It's a shame since it basically featured a GTS system and DLC for stadium, it was really ahead of its time
