Megas are never coming back. Pokémon is a children's property and Mega Evolution is the pinnacle of cruelty: sacrificing your beloved partner's sanity for power. Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing are Mega Evolution but without the suffering.

Then why are they still being constantly shilled in other media?
And if Megas were "so cruel" why did most of them go to the Pokemon Game Freak values?

Game Freak might keep drudging up Megas but they will never make new ones. It's a popular mechanic that they know will make money if they act like they still care about it every few years.
