if dipplin indeed gets an evolution in part 2, it will be one of the largest families period
outside of regional forms, I'm pretty sure eevee is the only family that goes past 4 pokemon

I wouldn't put it past gamefreak to flag dipplin as an NFE by complete accident, rather than because they actually planned on giving it an evolution

Gamefreak already fucked up here with the Chimecho line. Chingling learns Entrainment at level 19 in the Teal Mask, but Chimecho doesn't learn it at all. Gamefreak, in their infinite wisdom, thus flags Chimechos that know Entrainment as illegal, despite it being perfectly possible to get legally here.

Given that it's Kieran's signature Pokemon, and there's a rumour that he'll end up with a peach-themed Pokemon to complete the Momotaro group, maybe that's where they're going with it. It would be weird for everything in the line to be apple-based and then suddenly jump to a peach, but I wouldn't put it past gamefreak to pull something like that

Call me delusional, but Ogerpon seems vaguely peach-based to me. Not only is it a grass type for some reason, but its face (that it keeps hidden) looks a bit like a fruit as well. A bit on the orange side perhaps, but peaches can be orange-ish. Peach flowers tend to have five petals, and Ogerpon has a flower with five petals. The leaves on Ogerpon resemble Peach leaves. It also fits with it (secretly) being the hero of the story, like Momotaro.

You're right, as all that supports it being a peach can apply to it being more overtly an orange than a peach, not to mention the flower being white like an orange flower of pink like a peach flower. It's still rather interesting how they went with a fruit-based pokémon that hides its fruit-based nature for the 'villain' of the Momotaro story.

I already changed its nature and stats like a dumbass so I'll probably just box it for now, luckily someone traded me a white mochi earlier so I'll definitely keep it in mind. It's OK though cause Kitakami has too many damn grass types to begin with, im out here getting folded by fucking Yanmegas.

Regional forms are entirely different pokemon functionally. Same name and stats but a different typing, movepool, and abilities makes them wildly different. Galarian Slowbro plays absolutely nothing like Slowbro, and Ninetails and Alolan Ninetales have entirely different roles, team building synergies and match ups

Nah, you're not getting the story. In Momotaro, an elderly couple wishing for a baby get one out of a giant peach. He later goes on an adventure with a Dog (Okidogi), a Pheasant (However the fuck.you spell it), and a Monkey (Munkidori) to an island to slay an ogre (Ogrepon).

All elements are present except Momotaro, unless the player character is a stand in.

This, it's rather vague where the loyal 3 came from. The grandpa just says that they HEARD about the masks, there's no clue as to who told them or convince them the masks were worth stealing. And it doesn't make sense for them to travel all that way unless one of their members actually saw the masks and knew of their worth in person.
