Is there a datamine to show the "canon" time to do the DLC?

Being able to do it immediately after entering the academy and the first fight you do having a Poochyena of all things makes me feel it's not supposed to all be done post-game

The Perrin sidequest definitely feels like a post-game thing though

Obviously. Just like Isle of Armor was supposed to be done early, since your oponents have fucking venipeds and meditites.
Idk why Game Freak adds early game content year after everyone has already beaten the game

I can definitely see Teal Mask being Isle of Armor and Indigo Disk being Crown Tundra

BM quest, Ogre Clan and the the battles where you get to catch the royal three are not scaled. Everything else up to and including catching Ogerpon is level scaled.

The DLC literally starts after you get the mount and the treasure hunt cutscene ends. At that point every trainer is Level 10.
Perrin is 100% postgame in that you literally cannot do it beforehand.

Teal Mask and Isle of armor have lv 6p moms if you do them after beating the game. If you do them before that, their levels will be around 10 to 30.

Teal Mask specially, ie: Kieran has teams from lv 10 to 32, but if you do the the DLC after beating the game, his teams won't just be on the 60s but he will also use items like Focus Sash

Why didn't they apply this kind of scaling to the base game? Would have been Kino of you went back to the bug type gym when you have 5 badges to see her with higher level Pokemon, held items, and maybe something extra like a Heracross or something.
Couldn't be that hard to code in, right?

It's really not. Specially with mods like Pokemon Compass around.

GF really just wanted people who beat the game to not complain about the DLC being too short and easy and that new players don't complain about having to beat the game to play it.

The base game doesn't need to be scaled because it's the base game.

That's not what I said.
But here's a reason open world games shouldn't use level scaling: because it reduces the sense of progression you get from overcoming an obstacle that previously felt insurmountable. I promise you in 10 years we're going to be hearing from kids who stumbled on Grusha too early or wandered into that level 50 trainer outside the Pokemon league, got their asses beat, and then came back 30 hours later for revenge.
Hell, I had a similar experience the other day with one of the Kitakami Ogre Clan. I wasn't expecting a competitive team at level 75, and I had to forfeit the match because no amount of item spam could win that fight for me.
Also because I once completed a dungeon at a low level in Morrowind and the treasure chest at the end contained utter trash and made the whole thing feel like a waste of time.
