Was this the moment the franchise jumped ship? It started the trend of pumping out unfinished game after unfinished game, without ever giving any one game the love and care it needs.

Going from XY to ORAS is fine, gen 3 did the same, if they release a XZ/YZ before jumping ship and going to gen 7.

Instead they ended gen 6 early, started gen 7 early and both turned out to be mediocre cause of it, good job ruining 2 gens you greedy faggots.

You can't say that the cancellation of "A and Z" caused the trend of pumping unfinished games when XY was already unfinished. It started the trend regardless, at the very least.
Unless you want to argue that happened before XY, but you weren't, because that would also go counter to your argument.
