Neither Gamefreak nor Nintendo are indie darlings, anon. Yes I like the IP but the games are regressing in quality in order to pump them out on schedule. Hitting the release cycle is obviously the priority over finishing and polishing the experience. I don't say this in relation to other pokemon releases that had the same schedule restrictions, but to the rest of the game industry as a whole. Cyberpunk released in a horrifying state and the backlash made them give full refunds to anyone who wanted them. Then they worked on the game and have seen some people say it plays well now. Never played so couldn't confirm myself. S/V went through the same issue and the response was to reduce draw distance and amount of rendered objects.
I get what you say about the fun factor. I never finished the game because of the bugs and I refused to do a second Team Star base. The time I spent roaming and catching random Pokemon, the suprise Zorua I found disguised as a Jigglypuff, finding the chained doors and not knowing what they are for, finding the first sword and realising they are the keys to the doors, fighting Arven 20 levels under his mons was a great challenge that took me a few retries.
Those are all things I genuinely enjoyed about the game and I hope you can understand that despite enjoying some of what was served I can still be disapointed by what could have been if the games were given more time to be good games without the caveats.
