This is by far the most well written game in the series simply because it filtered timetravelfags. Game Freak finally made a story too smart for half the fanbase.

Pokémon games typically have barebones stories so it’s not really a hard thing to achieve. Gen 1 and 2 are literally just “go get badges, occasionally fight crime”

Does it actually matter which theory is right for this particular story? Either way it just means anything can be possible. Anything can come into the present from any period in time, and imagination is literally limitless. No matter which one is correct, the truth of the situation is exactly the same: Gamefreak can pull whatever they want out of their ass and it will work with both theories. It'd be the exact same thing if there was an Ultra Wormhole sending things from an alternate world, or people making wishes on comets from the Mega Evolution meteor or whatever, I dunno.

It only gets "good" in the very end, nevermind the fact that open world meant they couldn't even tell a proper story. As shit as gen 5 and 7 writing are at least they told a story.

Nothing in the Teal Mask suggests time travel is involved in any of the weird events that happen in Kitakami, despite them being tied to Tera crystals.

Yeah, it's genius of them to make a story that's deliberately unfinished in order to keep interest for a year until they spell out the answer in the final part of the DLC that's mandatory to answer lingering plot threads and actually explain how the main plot elements that drove the base game's climax work.

It's bad because Team Plasma is set up to be something it's not. Hell, even N's entire character has no actually good scenes until the very end, when the game pretty much goes "oh yeah lmao I was dumb for doubting the relationship between Pokémon and humans, Ghetsis just manipulated me since I was a child, you're right anon! Can I suck your dick now?"

I've been pretty out of the loop since playing legends arceus, i only know some cursory stuff about scarlet and violet. Sell me on which one i should get. Are the only differences the version exclusives and which professor there is or is there more to it?

Besides those, the only other difference is the name and color of the school. Generations 3, 5, and 8 are the only ones with notable version differences.
I would say pick whichever one you think has better exclusives, but Violet is massively more popular so you will have an easier time trading for dex completion if you pick Scarlet.
Also these games run like absolute dogshit so you need a high tolerance for frame drops. I find they run a lot better in handheld mode for some reason, but certain areas will still lag like shit.

I personally wouldn't say massively, yeah Violet is definitely noticeably more popular then Scarlet but it is not a Sword-Shield situation in the disparity between them.

Also you can only ride the "Raidon" of your own version because your ride mon is a Partner Pikachu/Eevee situation (Can't leave the game). And the school uniform colors are also likewise locked to your version IIRC, which sucks.
