At this point I don't think timetrannies even believe what they're saying. Teal Mask directly supports the imagination theory without including any references to time travel at all. You would have to be wilfully ignorant to think that Terapagos isn't some kind of wish granter.

He knows it's possible by that point, he saw the time machine in action. His line about things not lining up is about the Paradox Pokemon from 200 years ago, before the time machine was built. Which could mean either there is no time travel involved or more time travel will occur. We won't know until TID comes out.

Also, GameFreak also explicitly stated Ogerpon to be evil and the Loyal Three to be heroes, and that turned out to be blatantly false. SV in general has been all about things not being exactly as they seem. Wouldn't be too surprising for them to do it again
