I love Chikorita because it's so cute, just look at it! It's this cute little pear with a leaf and a smile.

Yet everyone bashes this adorable thing on a regular basis, like what the fuck?! Why?! Just because they think it's weak?! I'll have you know I crushed Whitney's Miltank with a Bayleef!!

This shit was more than likely due to the media trope of herbivores being docile and harmless. Take a look at shit like all the idiots being dabbed on by bison in Yellowstone because they (the visitors) got too close for a dumbass selfie.

Just because an animal is a herbivore doesn't mean it's a harmless critter. Herbivores have a "fight or flight" instinct which means they CAN and WILL defend themselves when threatened. Even an animal as simple as a deer can fuck you up the moment you're seen as a threat if it doesn't run away.

I also love slugma, magcargo, magmar, and lickitung, but I can only remember seeing hate for magmar.

Pollen Puff combined with the dual screens it has gives it something in doubles but the issue is the Meganium has to compete with the starters from every other generation: all of which are either minimaxed to hell, can run 50 different sat at once, or both, so realistically if you want a grass type you'd just run on of those. And Game Freak is so stupid that they think Parodox Pokemon and Urshifu are similar strength to the average pokemon so even "good" pokemon cant even et their foot in the door.

Chikorita line is one of the most consistent and best Grass start lines visually. The big problem usually is that it's a very girly looking pokemon and just has never been good, especially in the region it was introduced.
