Gen 5 fanboys (note: I said fanboys) tend to shit on other generations more than others. They seemingly have a vitriolic hatred for Generation 1 especially all because of old memes from Facebook that disingenuously compared Charizard to Trubbish. People still haven't over those memes. Every day you get posts that shit on every generation. If you disagree you are lying and if you have to lie to be in the right you're wrong.
Gen 1 gets hate any time it is referenced for fan service. Shocker that a company wants to milk nostalgia fags dry.
Gen 2 gets shit on for being a DLC that hates it's own pokemon.
Gen 3 gets hate for starting the legendary focused plots or the pokemon being too different.
Gen 4 for being slow, pokemon distribution and gym/teams.
Gen 5 for pokemon designs, the story and reusable tm's.
Gen 6 for jumping to 3D, felating KANTOOO, adding Fairies and story.
Gen 7 has the least amount of discussion and since I haven't played yet can't take a guess .
Gen 8 for the dex cut, shit animations and people somehow blame it for being the genesis of handholding.
Gen 9 justafiably gets shit on for running like hot ass.
A lot of the arguments I see for any given generation largely apply to the series as a whole.
