>>54522897To be fair, the opposite has been an issue since gender was introduced. Machoke, Emboar, and Wailren can all be female despite having big masculine pecs and/or beards. There weren't a lot of 'feminine' Pokemon before they shifted away from animals and more towards furry. It's just more jarring when you have a monster explicitly copy a gendered humanoid's design.
It does kinda add a bit of fridge horror though that the Pokemon are merely emulating the appearance of humans to grow closer to them without understanding the function of the forms they're copying. i.e. the Primarina only looks the way it does to encourage prey to approach it, mistaking it for a woman. Very true to nature in that respect I guess.
