You also waste a lot of time on self-afirmative "character arcs" because they don't want to actually touch the characters.
And for a game that was supposed to be autistic fanservice for the hardcore fans it doesn't add shit and isn't even consistent as to what part of the timeline the characters themselves come from. And I don't even mean across all games but within a single game. Gloria is a champion(has Zacian) but still acts as if Leon is above everything. Except when she doesn't. Its terrible.
I do agree Lear and Paulo are some of the better characters the franchise has(not a hard competition), but they're sparkles in a sea of shit.
