It'd be funny if they changed its ability to give it +3 evasion upon entry, makes more sense than randomly allowing it to change its type because it gets hit by a move

Sounds soulful if you don't allow it to learn any evasion buffing moves but it'd make Smoggies cry which is soulful.

Except Smeargle and Shedinja both have solid niches, there's no law that says Gimmick Pokmeon should be shit, if anything Gimmick pokemon have more of a reason to actaully be usable or else what's even the point of the gimmick? .

BASED Kecleon enjoyer. But, you do know that he got Protean in gen 7, right? He'll unfortunately never be good in competitive, but I used one in my US/UM playthrough and he kicked ass. (Assault Vest help make him a real special tank.)

So was Kecleon in Gen 6 NU with Power-Up Punch into Sucker Punch/Shadow Sneak.
Snorlax is shit now in competitive, so it's not like he's something for either of these two to strive for

Now that Protean is nerfed (because they gave the ability to mostly fast Pokemon) and as such lost it's offensive power, and it's lesser defensive mindgame strategy, it's pretty garbage.

If they had Color Change activate before being hit, it would give it a bunch of resistances and only two weaknesses, plus passive immunity to moves like toxic, will-o-wisp, etc. It would give it a lot of defensive utility.

I'm actually a fan of this little guy. It's movepool in Gen 3 is actually pretty darn good all things considered, and contrary to what you'd believe, its ability can be super useful. Keep in mind that Hoenn is home to numerous notable Water-type trainers whose Pokemon primarily carry Water and Ice moves. Kecleon will resist all of their attacks using Color Change and his fantastic Sp. Def. He doesn't light the world on fire, but Kecleon is definitely an underappreciated bro.
