You know it’s actually pretty interesting that gamefreak wrote an abuse victim, since they more or less implied that Carmine hits him or at least used to. This perfectly mirrors how children who get beat by their parents end up seeing violence as the only solution to their problems, just like how Kieran hits things out of frustration. Weird to make Carmine, a character we’re meant to see the goodness of, into a villain but maybe japanese culture is just different.
