A bit too sinnoh, maybe make the mountain water and the left side mountains. There's a lot of connecting routes , but it could use an additional middle connecting route even if it came at the cost of others. If it was water the whole thing could be one giant route with connecting spots left and right.

Actually, 1 criticism for both of them is there's way to many towns compared to routes. It has that "1 route between each town" vibe which feels a bit too compact

Well, the region is supposed to be inspired by western Washington, especially around the Puget Sound part. Setting them up is not easy since I need to put in a starting town. I was thinking of putting the Pokémon League in Vancouver Island, with Victory Road as an old-growth forest.

I think if you take the first one and add the second, it would be fine. So, take everything left of the mountain in the first, then add everything from the second to the right.

oh shit nice op, I'm also from Tacoma and make a very similar map. I think the second one is better for what it includes, but you should try and zoom it out or shrink the city icons so the routes look better and more spread out.

OP feels a lot more balanced than every other map you've done so far, even though I do like the other side of the mountain area.

As to why I think OP's best here's why:

The water routes make sense. They act as bridges and seem feasible for a Water Pokemon to traverse. What you did in other maps makes it seem like you've made shipping route.

The spacing of the cities seem fairly even and placed in probable locations (around the sound and on the shores), and the water route between the two cities on the east make a good "shortcut" to each other, that lets you backtrack and explore after you make your way back from the mountain region.

Just seems a lot more balanced.
