>>54564384The only good things about BDSP:
-Boss Trainers are actually designed somewhat well even if they're still riddled with the usual Gamefreak hand hold difficulty. This also pretty much hard confirms that ILCA is better at making balance to Pokemon games than Gamefreak itself
-Grand Underground actually being something worthwhile rather than a DS tap fest is refreshing. While I do like how Platinum mons were shoved into it, it's a much better middle ground than not having them at all. Hell offline Spiritomb is also a great benefit.
-Carrying over the automatic HMs solves gen 4's terrible reliance of HMs for its exploration. And makes the bad map design of some areas bearable.
Besides that though. It's a pretty bad remake. Does it make OG DP playable? Yeah. But as an authentic definitive way to play Gen 4, it's far from it. You might as well play Platinum or Renegade Platinum if you really want the best Sinnoh experience. Big shame that it pretty much suffers a similar issue I had with HGSS, but at least HGSS actually carried over Crystal stuff. GameFreak needs to stop marketing these as "Remakes" and market them as "Remasters" instead if they keep doing this shit. Also ILCA basically butchered One Piece too so I'm not surprised, maybe it's best to ditch them for remakes, even if I personally did like their direction with Boss battles in this entry.
