yeah that makes sense if you see the entire disc as just earth. if you look even closer on the left side there are even what looks like mountain ranges and clouds. and on the right side near terapagos' tail you can see the ocean and a little ship

yes solar systems can have planets in them. boot up gen 9, there's a sun in the sky. so likely has planets orbiting around it that includes more than the planet pokemon takes place on. we have meteorites in the pokeverse too, so there's probably an asteroid belt somewhere.

Why wouldn't it be? We know real world countries exist on top of all the existing regions also being based off real countries. It feels like splitting hairs to go "well it could be some other unnamed solar system" as if they would go through the trouble to make the world nearly identical to earth and then have it be not earth and then have it actually matter for anything.
