"Lore". i'd say there was probably a bigger effort on making/expanding a "Pokémon World" with shit like Rangers and Explorers and it happened rapidly with several games in quick succession, this day you just throw up a mobage and have a cute girl spout tutorials at you or some shit like that. honestly the sheer number of games/solid sequels and remakes is why the DS is good, if DP and BW were the only DS games then it would probably be the de-facto worst console gen

How did so many spinoffs get made, anyway? It's like they gave up on making decent ones in the 3ds era, minus SMD.
