>>54573866Not what I said again. Your opinions are not mine and if you think that, say it. I'm saying "it's always been deliberately kiddy and simple, something they worked on retaining through the years". It's not my fault you were a simple child fuckwit, who wasn't born in time to experience 80's gaming tropes in the 80's to blitz through the game when you first met it, by time I had met it, I was 15 and had very much cut my teeth on 80's NES games so it was a nice simple jaunt through an interesting concept, once I got a handle on the type match-ups.
And if you think there's been some change in the games beyond trimming the fat and shaping the game to make it easier and more attractive for kids, in the modern era of "every pocket with a smartphone", to actually complete the game and maybe get invested in the brand like you, vs when you were a kid, didn't have netflix, didn't have cloud gaming and didn't get a new game every week, so they needed to push all kinds of kid-flavoured crap in to add a reason for kids to keep playing after credits, if they weren't arsed collecting them all (protip: not many of them ever are). they adapted how they sold kids on the game. It's always been easy, however even with the adaptations.
