Tapu Lele in SS OU

No.54575818 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
This mon is too good. Should probably be banned. Specs Modest has absolutely no switch in. Corviknight is the only thing that can actually take two of whatever this thing can click and even then:

>252+ SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 88 SpD Corviknight: 132-156 (33 - 39%) -- 99.7% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
>252+ SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Psychic vs. 252 HP / 88 SpD Corviknight in Psychic Terrain: 162-192 (40.5 - 48%) -- 5.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

It forces the Corv to Roost so you can just switch in something that sets up on it. Melmetal comfortably lives everything and forces it out but if the Lele player gets the read right and hits Focus Blast it's an OHKO. All these guys + Ferrothorn, Heatran just get worn down by repeated switch-ins from Rocks + taking like ~30% each time with limited recovery options without you even needing to risk a Focus Blast. There's no sustainable answer to this. Even then if you predict one just once there goes your Moonblast answer and you just lose

Scarf is almost as bad. Future Sight + Urshifu is devastating, nothing handles that except screen support. Scarf Lele also doubles into being a Dragapult, Weavile revenger and a very effective late-game cleaner once the Steel type has been weakened enough. Insane role compression that forces you to guess whether or not it's going to practically OHKO the thing in front of it or predict a switch and set up a FS combo

A single mon shouldn't put so much constraint on team building. I feel like you NEED a bulky Steel plus an offensive playstyle to keep Lele from hitting the field. The prediction oriented playstyle is not healthy for the metagame
