>>54579394I cannot fathom DP in A. They're so fucking slow and drab that they have the distinct dishonor of being the only mainline games in the entire series without a single element that could bring me back to it.
RBG? The original experience without anime pandering, and also a look at JP sprites in the case of JP Red or Green.
Yellow? The first following mon and good sprites.
GS? Unique sprites without the Suicune thing shoved into the game?
Crystal? Animated sprites and my favorite overall art style.
RS? Emerald, but retaining the split version identity.
Emerald? It's the best Gen 3 game.
FRLG? RGB with better mechanics at the cost of sprites I don't like as much?
Platinum? It's the best Sinnoh game.
HGSS? Johto but with PSS and the Gen 4 sprites are quite good.
BW? All Unova mons and the characters when they aren't talking for over a minute at a time.
B2W2? The games I like the feel of the most, between the Pokémon diversity and the pacing.
XY? Really good mons from Kalos and the best interface.
ORAS? RSE with "better mechanics" and Mega fucking Beedrill.
SM? Full disclosure, I refused to go through the first hour of cutscenes, but it's just USUM without some of the autism I don't like in them, such as Rainbow Rocket.
USUM? Mostly a better SM.
SS? Easy team-building and good UI, but fuck these games.
PLA? It's unique, I just don't like it.
SV? I was long since not buying them, but Tera is really cool, paradoxes are cool despite the terrible names, and I liked the professor AI.
What do DP offer over a single one of these games? Oh sweet, I get to play Platinum with my character in the summer costume... in exchange for a slower engine and shittier encounter. They're the worst in the whole fucking franchise solely because there's no reason to pick them
