Pokemon black and white and black 2 and white 2 are factually the best looking pokemom games out there.

Gen 1 and gen 2 look shit, gen 3 and gen 4 look fine and the 3D games look soulless.

I'll say that the 3D backgrounds in BW/BW2 were really amazing for me back then. The details like the cars driving on or under bridges, and stuff like the Pokémon swimming in Marine Tube... quite soulful

Gen 4 is infinitely better. Bigger sprites, more defined, more solid and with better coloring. Gen 5 has small sprites with duller colors, also they pixelate a lot.

Man I miss sprites. So much better than the ugly shitty models we get nowadays in games. The only franchise that actually looks good out of these in 3D is Mario because the devs actually try. I'm glad Game Freak is at least trying to improve by removing the ugly ass XY models from the games and replacing them with ones that actually look good in SV. It's a nice step forward.

Gold and Silver and Sun and Moon are the only Pokemon games that look objectively good for their respective consoles.

Sword and Shield also looks reasonably good in indoor areas and cities.
