Complete outsider looking in here. I’ve tried playing one of the games once, and while I enjoyed it, I eventually put it down after about 2 hours because I realized that this series just wasn’t for me. So I want to know, from the fans and people that enjoy this series and have been following it since the 90’s, 00’s, whatever the fuck, what keeps bringing you back to this series even when it has catastrophic failures like the most recent games, or when every other RPG out there just feels more….I don’t know, complex? Complete? Is it the nostalgia? The gameplay? The character designs? What is it that gives this series such a large pull despite being so damn simplistic? If not too simplistic in some cases?
