>>54596377>Is this game actually fun?Depends on your definition of fun. You're basically just playing through gens 1-5 but with some QoL changes, competent AI and improved move sets.
It can be bullshit at times though. The most difficult part of each game is the beginning because you don't have access to the move tutor and your breeding options are extremely limited on top of taking way too much time to invest when all you want to do is get through the story and you don't have enough money to buy good TMs so you're stuck at a huge disadvantage. Your Pokemon will have the basic bitch move sets that you always have early on(very little type coverage and you'll be lucky to have anything stronger than a 60 power move) meanwhile NPC trainers have been given good type coverage with egg/tutor/tm moves which frequently have 70-90 power. Sturdy is used as the ability 80% of the time that it's possible, Focus Sashes are handed out like candy and someone on the dev team has a fetish for slapping on Rocky Helmets when they can't think of anything else.
Even if you don't care about the MMO aspect(which arguably isn't even a thing; seeing other people playing a single player game does not make something an MMO) I'd say it's worth playing because aside from the initial hump being bullshit it's pretty refreshing to play through familiar games but with trainers who actually seem like they're using strategy.
