Frankly, the fact you can feed a Minior, a Wailord, and a Cradily dairy products from a Miltank makes it feel like it's more a matter of finding shit they will tolerate outside of another Pokemon's flesh. Might be why people hand out eggs actually, a handraised Gible will probably tolerate sandwiches more than a wild Garchomp.
