they think rika would like larry because she's Sad Inside(tm) and larry is emotionally stable (in his own way) and prepared to see her at her worst
the idea of a girl being nonjudgmental about a guy being boring as fuck, or a guy being nonjudgmental when a girl isn't perfect and pretty... that rings with people, they like that
