>>54615359Hate to say it, but Shines were pretty much ALWAYS worthless and extremely overvalued by autists, the change of attitude regarding them isn't just due "OMG THEY ARE COMMON NOW", it is that they been around long enough for people to stop giving a shit about having one for the sake of having too and as a result are on average less likely to make the "My cover legendary for your Shiny Pidgey" kind of trade, even if they WERE hard to get properly they would likely still have the same issue because part of it is ALSO that your average schmo will probably consider a Shiny even being offered in a random trade as obvious hack even with the increases to the common they are. Even before PkHex when people RNGManipped that attitude started to take form with the most autistic "NO HAX PLOX" traders the actual deal seems to be more that it spread down to more general people over the years, which of course tanks the "Value" of a Shiny.
TL;DR: The Checkbox in PokéHex did more damage to Shiny "value" then the Masuda Method and other rate up tricks ever did.
>>54615380I think anon means it more in the slang way for how there are very obvious "Trade Tiers" for mons when doing random trades, People generally ain't gonna trade starters for Route 1 shitmons, or a Starter for a Legendary, or a Box Legendary for a Mythical aside from few personal exceptions, even with hacking those "Tiers" usually remain pretty solid, since it is basically "I'll trade my Trade-Item-Evo Mon for your Trade-Item-Evo mon, Not your Haunter with a Everstone" kind of stuff. Not so much a Money Economy so much as it is a Bartering one of perceived value of various items. if that makes sense.
