Cynthia is not hard, people who think Cynthia are hard only think so for one of 2 reasons

1. they played DPPT when they are a small child and thus didn't know how the game worked properly, dragon type resisting all 3 starter types probably blew a lot of kids out

2. unironically and completely reddit osmosis, they see a bunch of people saying "omg cynthia is soooo hard" and assume its true or fool themselves into thinking its true, its the same thing with Whitney but to a lesser degree

(the hardest one is Volo, Red is also hard but only because you have to grind, if you're the right level he's easy but harder than Cynthia)

You play that shit as a kid and you always have memories of her being busted. Especially since one of her mon stopped any super effective moves till current gen.
Its the same reason people thing whitney is powerfull.
Also DPPT had fucking TERRIBLE pokemon distribution most people were going at her with a completely trash team.

Red isn't exactly powerful either. Hopefully in the bw/bw2 remakes we get another pwt with every major character from the other games. Maybe we'll even see full potential with items and beneficial abilities.

and after BDSP Cynthia has the objectively strongest (mainline) team overall, so its her
Cynthias best possible team >> Reds best possible team

Although I think even her Pt rematch or BW1-2 CM teams can beat Red despite lower levels. Not certain though

Does anyone really care what this character does? He isn't even written consistently. He had a close win against Cynthia and a close win against Leon, you would never argue Cynthia is close to Leon though.
