No, they don't care about the quality because they easily could have made Z an expansion on the 3DS but chose not to and instead rushed out SM with even less features than Gen 6 but with the form shit that would have been in it haphazardly shoved in.

Gen 6 is such an outlier, it’s the only Gen without an extra version or DLC.
Not only that but the XY anime got the best narrative but the most cucked ending.

Pokémon never really recovered from this and there’s no one to blame but themselves.

Crystal changes basically nothing except add a Battle Facility barely anyone actually played or finished
Emerald changes basically nothing except add a Battle Facility barely anyone actually played or finished
Platinum is still complete dogshit like DPPt that didn't fix any of the real problems
BW2 and USUM are flat out worse than the originals in some ways

Sounds like bullshit. Stats are automatically tied to levels as part of the game data structures. Why would they go out of their way to make it a purely superficial difference?

because it's not purely superficial: higher level means more damage dealt even if the stats are the same. basically, it's a way to make challenge mode harder but not too much, just a little.
