People talk about XY being wasted potential but Sun and Moon are even more. XY was boring and lifeless from the start, Sun and Moon had charm and a fun atmosphere and aesthetic, but got dragged down by boring gameplay and uninteresting game design. Not even a third version saved it.

You're right. I argued with people so much around the time it came out, people were coping a lot about it, and then USUM came out and added useless shit like the worst battle facility in the series that no one even remembers (battle agency, it was actually broken and non-functional it didn't even scale your levels), a surfing minigame, and fulfilled promises like that tiny dinosaur park entrance in SM with a fucking Pikachu circus thing that's literally a joke.
And then that entire hype about the alternate dimensions and you get to that "city" and it's a short hallway.
God I hate USUM so much, it dethrones Yellow as the worst third version.

The grade of the Pokemon decide their levels and you could just add people to your friend list with level 100 Pokemon and stomp the level 50-100 Pokemon effortlessly. It's a botched version of the battle factory.

Oh and since the servers will go offline, you'll be forced to play the offline version which is impossible to progress after a certain grade because you'll start running into Pokemon higher leveled than you, until you get walled, and the only way to progress would be to add friends to your plaza.
It gets my vote as the single most broken and badly designed thing they have ever done.
