The more I play showdown the more and more I want to annihilate and rip Water types to fucking shreds.

Why the fuck is water not weak to ice. If you're a fictional creature with ic powers the No. 1 way you would show that off is by freezing water. Lik how fighting is SE on rock and steel because that's straightforward way of displaying super strength/martial arts mastery. Water ice and fire should have transform inteeaction like: ice type hit by fire move becomes a water type, water type hit by ice move becomes ice type. Also water should be weak to fire since it boils and evaporates from the heat.

Sure, but that’s 100% not the reason why water resists ice in this scenario. It’s just because water creatures in old JRPGs tend to resist ice attacks, and Gamefreak wanted to reflect that. You wouldn’t cast blizzaga on an octopus monster. If pokemon types were based on the actual hard science, water, grass, steel, rock, and especially electric would have drastically different type interactions than they do now.
