I was at a restaurant recently, seated next to a family and I couldn't help but notice two of the kids had an actual GBC (complete with wormlight) taking turns playing Pokemon Silver. It was a surreal sight, like seeing a glimpse of myself and my friend 20 years ago. I didn't think the old games (let alone hardware) would still connect with modern kids.

It got me thinking, do younger people who aren't quite as nostalgia-goggled as me still think the older 2D games hold up? I could understand if not, even I admit they have a certain clunkiness to them. In my eyes, that's part of the charm, but I don't know what % of that is nostalgia.

Just interested in hearing perspectives, take the genwar shit elsewhere.
