This is made WORSE when they later translate hitodama as "souls of the dead" when it's much more accurate to translate it as "human soul", because that's literally what it fucking means.

So not only did fans need to wait that long to learn this from them, but people have been mistakenly believing and spreading misinfo about his work. Surely Iwata would want to be remembered for things he actually did. This algorithm contribution is also arguably more substantial than what was previously believed, when you consider just how often the player is entering battle in these games.
