Very possible. Hisui/Sinnoh has connections to Johto, and Norman is from Olivine City—so it's not impossible that May is a descendant of the Pearl Clan given their similarity.

They look nothing alike. It should be more blatant like exact same hairstyle, color and eyeshape. Like Adaman and Perrin they have to look like genderbends or aged up/ down like Rowan and his ancestor
