Oh boy! I sure do love being a Generation 4 Pokémon game! I surely hope the person playing this Nintendo DS device is extra careful and doesn’t accidentally lightly tap their console the wrong way causing me to freeze up for no fucking reason!

No but that has happened to me before. Not with Platinum, but with Mario Kart DS and Kirby Super Star Ultra. Meanwhile I accidentally got a few drops of water on my cartridge of Shovel Knight on the 3DS and it absolutely fucking refuses to load an existing or new save now leaving me unable to even play it.

There's no point in making it actively worse for yourself by playing on 3DS. Not like you even benefit from the Circle Pad unlike some DS games to make the trade off worth it.

This literally never happens unless I drop my DS from such a height that the cartridge gets dislodged. Fix your DS, OP if lightly tapping it causes freezes, OP. Your wires might be fucked up.

I have a copy of Soul Silver that would sometimes stay on a black screen after going through a door. I don't know is it the cartridge, since it was my sister's and she was rough with her stuff, or the DSi, which was left in a damp room for years and might have got corroded or something during that time. Regardless I've played hundreds of hours of every other gen IV game without a single problem. OP either has something busted or he's a gorilla.

It might not be a genuine cart or console. HGSS has an anti-piracy measure that does that in emulators unless use a specific "cheat code" or a patched ROM file.
