The cutscene at the beginning of the game is the aftermath of that, it was a very recent event.

This happened way before the start of the events of the game, it's a completely seperate dispute between the Raidons. That's also when they stopped sending/responding to Arven's emails for obvious reasons. It was "a couple of years ago" according to him. There is no time discrepancy.
