Everyone hates BDSP because it's faithful to DP. DP was not good, but nobody remembers how much it sucked, only how great Platinum was. So getting a faithful remake isn't actually what people wanted.

Everybody keeps going on about being a faithful remake and missing Platinum content, what bothered me the most was that the game was still built on a grid but also allowed 3D movement so the entire playing experience was janky as fuck. Genuinely unpleasant to play.

Because it is low effort slop. Kept issues with the originals in the name of being faithful and removed some features that would have taken effort to actually remake.
I don't think they are bad games, but the only reason to play them over the originals is online which I do not care for.

It's not as easy as people buying the games because of low standards. There's the loners who need to buy both versions for completion, kids, people who took a break from the series and came back (me) and then there are also the people who are affixed to pokemon.
Then SV came out and I tried it because I thought it could be interesting. Since it was so shit I don't care what they release next.
