I like her. Glimmora I'm not crazy about since it looks like it gives me Shelgon vibes like there's another evolution in wait, but I like that she matches it and Area Zero/Tera visually speaking. I've stomped every champion so nerds getting hung up on how tough the fights are across games just seem off in their own world.

Glimmora really isn't a terrible ace at all. It has very high SpA, decent Speed, and decent bulk. It's just the rest of her team sucks.

Yeah, I think people get really hung up on its ability and ignore the fact that it has pretty good stats, especially for an in-game boss fight where the player will have mediocre IV's and random EV's.
It's bulky enough to get a Rock Polish off and then spam Rock-type Tera Blast, with Earth Power and Sludge Wave for coverage.

People got hung up on its ability because it's ability makes it perfect as a lead. It takes a hit and sets Toxic Spikes. That's good. But Geeta sends it out last, when the spikes wouldn't matter anymore. Similarly she also has a Kingambit, which gains more strength the more team members are defeated first, and sends it out midway instead of last.

Even discounting her actual team members, her team composition sucks. And this coming from a League leader who claims to "be unable to hold back" makes her bold claim rather ineffectual and pathetic instead.

Yes, the ability makes it optimal as a lead. That doesn't mean it has to be a lead, or that it's bad as an ace.
In fact, I can easily imagine it taking a hit while it sets up Rock Polish, dropping poison spikes, then KO'ing the player's mon on the next turn. The player sends something else out and now it's been poisoned.
You have to remember that in-game teams don't have the same design considerations as competitive teams. For one thing, a boss's ace is usually higher level than anything on the player's team.

NTA but you're trying to read her team through only one lens (compfag shit) when her team is supposed to represent the expanse of Paldea. She's the top champion because she encompasses all of Paldea's nature coalesced together, and her team reflects that. It's even fitting that Glimmora is her last mon ace because Area Zero is the part of Paldea you can't explore until the end.

I think people fail to grasp that in placing expectations on her. It's pretty obvious that the actual boss fight in SV is against the AI professor, and that was handled well. People just process information too conventionally and think that because the champion was the final fight in past games that the champion fight should be a final boss level fight in every game.

I think making her "the top champion" sets certain expectations. She doesn't need a full team with jacked stats like the AI professors, but it would be nice if she just didn't have three random shitmons.

Why not just lean into the fact that Geeta's related to the academy not fuck with those expectations of a champion at all then? They already establish people who beat Geeta as being "champion-level" as though it were different from the position in other regions, so just say Paldea's League is an elite Trainer School experience that produces giga autists like Nemona. Would fit the random interview too.
