>>54686428>DQM also allowed for transfers between games (Terry's Wonderland and Joker 2 for example)Not that we got Terry's wonderland. That said not only is it a rarity for other series it usually comes with a caveat. J2 to TW for example basically resets the monster and SMT has never had transfers.
>Is fusing your own beast with unique and interesting skillsets more engaging and convenient than iv/ev grinding? No, not really. Often you have to evolve/fuse up and down different routes to get specific moves. Of course some games require you to save monsters with specific sets to the compendium like SMT does but that also increases the cost of the monster if you want to generate it and at that point it's just grinding on top of grinding. Also it's funny that you would compare that to EVs and IVs when the comparison would be TMs and breeding both of which are faster to do and often don't require a full guide.
EV training on the other hand has been incredibly easy since gen 5 and has only become faster with things like hordes in gen 6 and removing the vitamin cap in gen 9. Its also worth noting that other monster tamers have stat up items which are far more rare or expensive like the food in Cyber Sleuth or the incense in SMT. These being the EV equivalent and not moves.
And unlike vitamins, those items don't increase stats by 10 but usually 1 to 3.
IVs are the only thing left and while admittedly annoying hypertrain8ng has made it a non issue.
>once metal slimes become available in DQMI don't think I need to explain why Metal Slimes with their high evasion, high defence and tendency to flee isn't a reliable way to level up.
>Boy I really like half-baked stake hunting.and sandwich making over solid core gameplayYes because those are the only side games in SV, some of the gym minigames have higher difficulties you know? Even if they were it would be better than having nothing.
