Fire resisting Fairy neither makes, nor doesn't make sense. It's just random. A rationale would be preferred, but as long as it isn't anti-logic you're free to do whatever you want in your fantasy elements chart. And since fairies are mythical there's a certain degree to which you can make up how they work in your setting and the audience can buy that's just what fairies are like in this universe.
The crux of our problems is that half of us view Ice resisting Water as an anti-logic relationship, and the other half of us are wrong.
