Since gen 10 is probably coming out in a bigger span than usual they should fill in with a gen 9 MD

There would probably be twist that they actually ARE Loyal to the Big Good this time around or something even with dickass behaviour and bullying/trying to kill (You) and (Partner). PMD likes that sort of "Bad Pokémon actually good" twist IIRC.

I can't imagine a new PMD not being a mess trying to incorporate all of gen 7-9's key plot elements (UBs, Paradoxes, etc.)

UBs and paradoxes can be slapped together if you get a little creative. Gaymax would be too tricky to fit into the pmd gameplay so they'll prob skip that one. Not sure about Z. They can probaboy do tera.
Ever since Sky they've let shillmons be player characters(riolu, axew), so I hope we get charcadet as a protag option.

there was a giant pokemon in smd. but they could simply not do them at all. megaevolution is the only thing that was put everywhere (and in a lesser extent z moves with different names) because it was thought to be a staple or whatever.
they can just make an old time md, they released a retarded remake with only the first 3 gens pokemon so i dont see how thatd be a problem
