Yes it is. Mods exist for both SWSH and BDSP. Future proofed models and animations for every Pokémon were made for XY in a very short time frame.

Mods sacrifice overall quality to shoehorn in niche features
Guessing the mod in question is a buggy mess that's a nightmare to actually play but muh skitty makes it worthwhile for around three or four people

Eh, Pokemon's been around so long now that sales are mostly driven by brand recognition and parents who grew up on the good games buying the latest ones for their kids. We'll see how it turns out when the SwSh SV kids grow up.

The "Luminescent Platinum" Mod for Brilliant Diamond is better than the base game in every way. It's been worked on for the past few years, and is in it's full release version. I'm playing through it right now. Very few bugs, better than the base game in every way, AND it adds raytracing @ 60fps.
